THE GRAND CANYON
A BUCKET LIST ESCAPE
Few places on the planet can generate the same emotional response as the Grand Canyon. This breath-taking canyon proves that Mother Nature is the greatest artist in the world, and when she's in the mood to create, the outcome is pure perfection!
The Grand Canyon, located in Arizona, stretches for 1,217,403 acres, further than the eye can see. But its massive magnitude isn't its most stunning feature, the canyon's unique and surprising landscapes are created by geologic palettes and erosional creations.
Elements of The North Rim are so distinct that you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another universe! The area's stunning scenery gives it a remote and wild atmosphere. Foraging turkeys and deer frequent mountain meadows and you can take peaceful hikes along the picturesque trails to take in the breath-taking scenery.
Visitors can also explore the North Rim Scenic Drive featuring a twisting route to Cape Royal and Point Imperial or maybe you'd prefer to explore on mule back along the Grand Canyon Rim, Uncle Jim Point, or the more extensive inner canyon trip to Supai Tunnel on the North Kaibab Trail.
The South Rim and Desert View, unlike the North Rim, are open all year and have a plethora of museums and exhibitions to discover.
The Rim Trail is well-defined and fairly level so is a pleasant stroll for hikers starting from any viewpoint in the hamlet. Explore the canyon by day, and spend the night backpacking below the rim. Alternatively, travel the Trail of Time between the Yavapai Museum of Geology and the Verkamps Visitor Centre for a fascinating insight into the geologic history of this captivating place.
Whether you choose to explore on foot, on the back of a mule, make use of the free shuttle service or embark on a thrilling white-water trip, adventure-seekers are guaranteed a marvellous time at this spectacular natural phenomenon!
