Although the Northern Lights are “active” all year round, they can be viewed best from September to mid-April, with the darkest of nights falling between November and February. For the best viewing opportunities, head out to the less populated areas – some hotels even offer a “wake-up” service, ensuring even if you retire for the evening, you won’t miss the show!
